Role Summary:

The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role involves handling bookkeeping, reconciliations, tax filings, and financial analysis to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain financial statements, general ledgers, and journal entries.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax filings.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
  • Experience in general accounting, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
