Refrigeration Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Refrigeration Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on technical experience and be able to diagnose faults efficiently while ensuring systems operate safely and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair refrigeration and cooling systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to scheduled maintenance plans.
• Troubleshoot compressors, condensers, evaporators, thermostats, controls, motors, fans, and other refrigeration components.
• Check system performance, temperatures, pressures, and overall operating conditions.
• Detect and address refrigerant leaks and other system issues in accordance with applicable safety and environmental procedures.
• Replace defective components and carry out system adjustments when required.
• Perform testing and commissioning following installation or repair work.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, spare parts, and service work completed.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in safe working condition.
• Follow company health, safety, and technical procedures at all times.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, suppliers, and other technicians when required.
• Provide technical recommendations regarding repairs, replacement of equipment, and preventive maintenance.

Requirements

• Diploma, technical certificate, or vocational qualification in Refrigeration, HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous hands-on experience as a Refrigeration Technician, HVAC Technician, or similar position.
• Good understanding of refrigeration systems and refrigeration cycles.
• Strong troubleshooting skills covering both mechanical and electrical components.
• Experience with compressors, condensers, evaporators, control systems, and associated refrigeration equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to use refrigeration testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
