We are looking for a seasoned Product Manager Payments to drive the expansion, performance, and reliability of our global payments infrastructure. You will lead high-impact initiatives across local payment method integrations, checkout optimisations, and API product design working closely with engineering, partners, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Expand Channels & Markets

  • Launch and scale country-specific payment rails (e.g., bank transfers, wallets, QR codes/RTP) and regional payment methods (e.g., WeChat Pay)
  • Define and deliver all prerequisites for market entry, including contracts, certifications, settlement flows, and operational readiness
  • Ensure a consistent and streamlined merchant experience where feasible

2. Maximise Payment Success & Conversion

  • Design and iterate on payment and checkout flows, focusing on smart routing, issuer/wallet-aware retries, capture/refund logic, and error handling
  • Implement robust funnel instrumentation and run experiments to improve conversion rates and success metrics

3. Lead API Product Development

  • Define and maintain high-quality API specifications, including resource models, pagination, error semantics, and versioning strategies
  • Champion developer experience through well-documented APIs, usable SDKs, and testable interfaces

4. Drive Integrations with Partners & Schemes

  • Manage integrations and certifications with banks, wallets, schemes, and technical partners
  • Translate network and scheme specifications into scalable product capabilities

5. Ensure Operational Excellence

  • Reduce time from partner contracting to go-live

  • Enhance payment routing reliability, minimise latency, and optimise reconciliation and settlement with Finance and Treasury
  • Establish clear SLAs in partnership with Ops and Support teams

6. Support Card Payments & Risk Initiatives

  • Contribute to card-related initiatives, such as 3DS/SCA, tokenisation, authentication improvements, and chargeback management
  • Collaborate closely with Risk, Compliance, and processing partners

7. Lead Cross-Functional Execution

  • Align stakeholders across Engineering, Business Development, Legal/Compliance, Risk, and external partners
  • Communicate clearly and effectively via product docs (PRDs), API specs, roadmaps, and change logs

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with a strong focus on payments. You have launched multi-country payment integrations and/or local methods at scale
  • Deep expertise in API product design, including spec writing, versioning and deprecation strategies, error modelling, idempotency, and backwards compatibility
  • Proven track record optimising payment flows for conversion and reliability, using diagnostics, A/B testing, and data-driven iteration
  • Comfortable working hands-on with processors, schemes, and network specs, and managing technical partner relationships
  • Strong business and operational acumen, including partner economics, SLAs, certification timelines, and commercial trade-offs
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written. Operates effectively as a senior individual contributor
  • Based in Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur (remote considered within GMT+7 ±2). Willing to travel up to 2 weeks per quarter
