Position: Health Care Assistant (European Citizens Only)
Permanent Contract
Pink Dot Recruitment is a leading healthcare staffing agency, providing healthcare professionals to various healthcare facilities across Ireland. We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistants to join our team and work in a variety of healthcare settings.
As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing direct care and support to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or other healthcare professional. Your main duties will include assisting with daily activities such as personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility, as well as monitoring patients' vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Help patients with feeding and ensure they have a nutritious and balanced diet
- Support patients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Report any changes or concerns in patients' condition to the healthcare team
- Assist with the administration of medication, in accordance with the healthcare facility's policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control and health and safety regulations
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting their well-being and independence
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant in a healthcare setting is preferred
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and caring nature
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and nights
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills
