Job Details

The ICT Operations Branch provides ICT support and infrastructure services to the department and Ministers' Offices, ensuring stable and secure technology environments. The ICT Networks & Infrastructure Platforms section manages data centres, server hosts, virtualisation, automation, storage, backup and restore capability, and provides after-hours on-call support. The role is for a Senior Storage Engineer responsible for managing and evolving storage platforms within a large and complex ICT environment.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, manage and tune storage systems across physical and virtual layers

  • Deploy, configure and manage Storage Area Network (SAN) switches

  • Contribute to future direction of storage and data platforms using emerging technologies

  • Produce design, build and operations documentation

  • Perform knowledge transfer and mentor junior team members

  • Support storage, backup and infrastructure platform operations


Selection Criteria

Essential criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the design, administration, tuning and troubleshooting of one or more of the following storage systems: HPE 3PAR, Primera, Alletra Storage Systems NetApp E-Series Dell Data Domain Brocade Fabric Switches SANnav Scality Artesca

  2. Ability to produce design, build and operations documents for processes and procedures.

  3. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills to work with skilled technical people, including making presentations to staff and stakeholders and coaching staff.

  4. Experience / Knowledge of following technology: Veeam Backup and Replication
