Document Control Engineer

Job main scope:
Responsible for managing, maintaining, and controlling all technical documentation related to electrical and mechanical engineering. Ensures compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures while overseeing the complete lifecycle of engineering documents.
Minimum required educational level:
Bachelors degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain document control systems for engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical documentation using industry-standard document management software
- Review incoming engineering documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company standards and procedures
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure proper document workflows, including revision control, distribution, and archival
- Process engineering change requests and maintain revision histories for all technical documentation
- Perform quality checks on electrical and mechanical drawings, ensuring adherence to relevant codes and standards
- Manage the document numbering system and maintain proper filing structures for easy retrieval
- Create and update document registers, transmittal records, and drawing lists
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and clients for document submissions and approvals
- Support project handover activities by ensuring complete documentation packages
- Train team members on document control procedures and best practices
Pre-requisite skills Qualifications & training:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in document control within construction or engineering projects
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Proficiency in document management systems and CAD software
- Knowledge of industry standards (ISO, ASME, IEC) and regulatory requirements
- Experience with construction project documentation and workflows
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Work Enviroment
- Office environment with occasional visits to construction sites
- May require travel to project locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in solar power generation or renewable energy projects.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Knowledge of construction management processes
- Familiarity with quality management systems
- Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS)
