Application Manager - (Premium University) - (Education Sector)

 Job Description:

In this key role, you'll be the central hub for all our university's application needs. You'll be responsible for everything from managing vendor relations and system implementation / upgrades to user support and strategic planning.

Here's a glimpse of what you'll be doing:

  • Oversee all aspects of our core applications, including Dynamics 365, Student Information System (SIS), Learning Management System (LMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), HR System, scheduling system, library system, plagiarism and AI tools, website development, mobile application, SMS / WhatsApp management system, Microsoft SQL and more.
  • Be the point person for application vendors, coordinating updates, managing subscriptions, and ensuring smooth operation.
  • Analyze university workflows and identify opportunities for improvement through technology and application implementation.
  • Configure, implement, and manage application customization and evolution, including workflow design and user training.
  • Provide top-notch user support through knowledge base creation, training sessions, and best practice promotion.
  • Maintain application security with user administration and access control.
  • Manage vendor relationships and application-related projects.
  • Partner with various university departments to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Design, implement, and support reports, dashboards, Power BI tools, and custom reports.
  • Champion system integration across various applications.
  • Lead and manage the application team to ensure successful project completion and task fulfillment.
  • Provide on-call support as needed.
  • Generate regular reports for your IT manager.
  • Analyze university needs and recommend system upgrades or replacements.
  • Conduct user training sessions and maintain university databases.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for education.

General requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information System, Accounting Information System, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in application management or a similar technical role, with a total minimum experience of 10 years in the IT field.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise applications, including experience with systems like Dynamics 365, Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) (preferred).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with user support and training.
  • Proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of database management principles.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing and SaaS, project management and budgeting and forecasting.
  • Soft skills should: communication, problem solving, leadership, analytical thinking and collaboration/teamwork.
