CNC Programmer
About the job CNC Programmer
Job Purpose:
Assist and facilitate production by programming, verifying, and improving processes to produce parts on all CNC machines. Responsible for programming, management, documentation, and implementation of CNC programs.
Essential Functions:
- Receives work assignments and schedules programming work by the due date.
- Reviews prints and models.
- Determines the ideal machine and tooling to run parts on CNCs, balancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness of existing or new programs, processes, fixturing, and tooling.
- Verifies programs, tooling, and fixturing with the operators to ensure they work as desired in the machine chosen for the operation.
- Accomplishes work by receiving or pulling prints and/or models, evaluating and ordering tooling as necessary, designing fixtures as necessary, programming effectively and efficiently using CAM software, and interfacing with operators, then preserving programs once proven.
- Maintains workflow using the schedule and time management to ensure operators have programs before they are needed.
- Responsible for communicating on operations, tooling, and fixturing with machine operators to ensure quality parts are produced.
- Maintains company standards by exemplifying and enforcing core values and quality baseline.
- Directs software, tooling, and fixturing requests to Plant Manager.
- Maintains and develops professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following company and OSHA requirements.
- Other duties as required to meet job specifications.
Qualifications:
- Experience with manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Strong understanding of tooling equipment, tooling processes, and industrial standards.
- Makes effective decisions by analyzing information and considering priorities based on the schedule.

- Experience in the set-up and operation of manufacturing equipment.
