HSE Specialist (Health Safety and Environmental)
Job Introduction
Coordinate and execute programs, training and effective compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental programs throughout the Illinois manufacturing plants.
Role Responsibility
Define and document effective environmental, safety and health programs; administer changes to plans, as needed
· Record, calculate and track KPI progress for HSE
· Research, recommend and schedule planned HSE training
· Conduct training for new employees and annual training as necessary; recommend changes to design, development, or delivery as necessary
· Conduct needs analysis to identify HSE gaps and report concerns to management
· FROI, tracking, documentation of injuries; manage claims, RTW, employee restrictions
· PIT Program administration, tracking,
· Perform other duties as assigned by manager
The Ideal Candidate
Associate Degree (A.A.) required; Bachelors degree (B.A.) preferred, in related area
· Commitment to excellence and high standards
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Computer skills necessary for generating basic reports, presentations and spread sheet analysis using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· Effective organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow
· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
· Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
· Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
· Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
