Role Overview

As a Construction Estimator Finishes & Fixtures, you will play a critical role in the estimation and cost analysis of sanitaryware, tiling, gyprocking, and waterproofing for various construction projects. You will be responsible for performing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimations using cutting-edge software while ensuring accuracy in interpreting architectural drawings and construction specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform construction take-offs by accurately measuring and quantifying materials on PDF architectural drawings using proprietary software tools.
  • Analyze and interpret architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and detailed sections, to assess project requirements effectively.
  • Develop a strong understanding of finishing trade Scopes of Work, particularly in sanitaryware, tiling, drywall (gyprock), and waterproofing.
  • Provide precise cost estimates for subcontractors and suppliers within the finishing trades.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve ambiguities and discrepancies in project documentation.
  • Offer recommendations to enhance estimation efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in review sessions and training to stay updated on industry trends and software advancements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction estimation, quantity surveying, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards, especially in finishing trades (sanitaryware, tiling, drywall, waterproofing).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, including floor plans and technical details.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and ensure estimation accuracy.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work with precision under deadlines.
  • Familiarity with construction-specific estimating software (e.g., Cubit, Bluebeam, Planswift) is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the project team.
