Perform Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established, family-run business with over 40 years of experience in the industry.

Due to continued growth, they're looking for a reliable, hard-working Yard & Site Operative to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same, and you'll play a key part in keeping the site, equipment and vehicles in top condition.

About the Role

You'll support the wider team with all the essential day-to-day tasks that keep a busy sales, service and hire business running smoothly. You'll work closely with the workshop and yard staff, helping wherever you're needed, and you'll quickly become a valued member of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keeping the yard, workshop, showroom surroundings and general site clean, safe and well organised
• Washing and valeting cars, vans and machinery to a high standard
• Changing and fitting tyres on equipment and machinery
• Helping in the yard with loading and unloading deliveries, moving stock and organising equipment
• Preparing machinery and equipment for customers, hire and collection
• Assisting the workshop and service team with basic tasks as required
• Keeping tools, work areas and storage spaces tidy and in good order
• Following health and safety procedures at all times
• Carrying out any other general duties to support the team and the business

About You:

• A strong work ethic and a "get stuck in" attitude
• Happy doing physical, outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Reliable, punctual and committed to a long-term role
• Able to follow instructions and also use your initiative
• A team player who takes pride in doing a job properly
• Previous experience as a general operative, yard worker, labourer, car valeter or in a similar role is an advantage but not essential
• An interest in machinery, vehicles or equipment is a bonus
• A full driving licence is desirable
• Conversational English is required
