Perform Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing company in County Donegal.

The Role
As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, responding to breakdowns, carrying out preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair production machinery, processing equipment, and control systems.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests.
- Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation.
- Support production teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Maintain engineering stores, spare parts inventory, and workshop areas.
- Carry out general site and building maintenance as required.
- Identify and implement improvements to equipment performance, reliability, and safety.
- Assist in training operators on the safe and effective use of machinery.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in line with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects and engineering initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Apprenticeship, trade qualification, or formal certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience maintaining industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing, FMCG, or production environment.
- Multi-skilled mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and continuous improvement practices.
