Sales Executive – Field-Based (Munster Region)

Perform Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Executive on behalf of a well-established, farmer-owned FMCG business within the Irish dairy sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional to join a respected organisation with strong local roots and a reputation for quality, service, and long-term customer relationships.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving growth across retail and foodservice channels within County Kerry, North Cork, and West Limerick. This is a predominantly field-based position, focused on managing existing accounts while actively developing new business opportunities across convenience retail, independent stores, cafés, restaurants, hotels, and wider foodservice customers.

You will work closely with the Sales Manager and internal teams to deliver sales targets, strengthen customer relationships, and support the continued expansion of the business within the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an established customer base across retail and foodservice sectors
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers
  • Drive sales performance through account management, product promotion, and regular customer engagement
  • Deliver high standards of customer service and responsiveness at all times
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager to implement sales strategies and achieve targets
  • Collaborate with van sales, operations, and administrative teams to optimise service delivery
  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer feedback
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, call reports, and account updates
  • Support promotional activity, product launches, and trade events when required
  • Represent the business professionally in all customer interactions

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven sales experience in FMCG, foodservice, wholesale, or retail
  • Strong track record in field sales and account management
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a regional sales territory
  • Commercial awareness with strong negotiation and influencing ability
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/sales reporting systems

Desirable:

  • Experience within dairy, food, or beverage sectors
  • Knowledge of the Munster retail and foodservice market
  • Existing network within convenience retail or hospitality sectors
