About the Role
Perform Recruitment is currently seeking a Stores Supervisor on behalf of a well-established client in the FMCG sector. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you will support the Store Manager in overseeing warehouse, yard, and distribution operations.
You'll play a key role in ensuring efficient stock control, accurate order fulfilment, and smooth day-to-day logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Supervision
- Oversee daily picking hall operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in order fulfilment
- Coordinate workflows to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements
- Support and deputise for the Store Manager as required
Yard Management
- Manage the organisation and safe operation of the yard
- Oversee vehicle movements, loading/unloading, and storage of goods
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards
Goods In / Goods Out
- Manage inbound deliveries, checking against delivery notes and purchase orders
- Ensure accurate recording of all stock movements using the CORE system
- Supervise outbound dispatch, ensuring correct loading and documentation
Stock Control & Reconciliation
- Conduct daily van stock reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain accurate stock records across all storage areas
- Support stock takes and audits
Team Leadership
- Lead and support a team of 7 warehouse operatives and drivers
- Foster a positive, efficient, and safety-focused working environment
- Assist with training and onboarding of new team members
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and efficiency
- Work with management to implement improvements
What We're Looking For
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, store, or logistics supervisory role
- Strong understanding of stock control and inventory management
- Experience in FMCG, food production, or distribution environments is advantageous
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail, especially in stock reconciliation
- Proven leadership and team management ability
- Competent in IT systems (warehouse management systems desirable)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements
- Forklift licence (preferred, not essential)
- Strong awareness of health & safety practices
- Flexibility to meet operational demands
- HACCP training will be provided
