About the Role

Perform Recruitment is currently seeking a Stores Supervisor on behalf of a well-established client in the FMCG sector. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you will support the Store Manager in overseeing warehouse, yard, and distribution operations.

You'll play a key role in ensuring efficient stock control, accurate order fulfilment, and smooth day-to-day logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Supervision

  • Oversee daily picking hall operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in order fulfilment
  • Coordinate workflows to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements
  • Support and deputise for the Store Manager as required

Yard Management

  • Manage the organisation and safe operation of the yard
  • Oversee vehicle movements, loading/unloading, and storage of goods
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards

Goods In / Goods Out

  • Manage inbound deliveries, checking against delivery notes and purchase orders
  • Ensure accurate recording of all stock movements using the CORE system
  • Supervise outbound dispatch, ensuring correct loading and documentation

Stock Control & Reconciliation

  • Conduct daily van stock reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate stock records across all storage areas
  • Support stock takes and audits

Team Leadership

  • Lead and support a team of 7 warehouse operatives and drivers
  • Foster a positive, efficient, and safety-focused working environment
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new team members

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and efficiency
  • Work with management to implement improvements

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, store, or logistics supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of stock control and inventory management
  • Experience in FMCG, food production, or distribution environments is advantageous

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail, especially in stock reconciliation
  • Proven leadership and team management ability
  • Competent in IT systems (warehouse management systems desirable)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements

  • Forklift licence (preferred, not essential)
  • Strong awareness of health & safety practices
  • Flexibility to meet operational demands
  • HACCP training will be provided
