About the job Building Warehouse Manager

The Building Manager is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse with particular emphasis on the management of the warehouse personnel and the implementation of warehouse action plans. The tracking and recording of equipment, hours, assurance that equipment maintenance schedules are followed, employee meetings are conducted, and the implementation of sustainment of continuous improvements within the designated facility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensures the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse to meet service standards.

Ensures proper labor coverage for daily workload.

Provides direct supervision to all Warehouse Supervisors, Leads and Employees.

Ensures compliance with both internal and external SOPs and Standard Work.

Assists in developing a program to train and motivate personnel for increased effectiveness.

Develops and implements shipping and receiving work schedules and assignments to assure effective and efficient operations.

Makes recommendations to the Director/General Manager on programs to improve warehouse operations.

Interacts with customers on a daily basis and attends regular customer meetings.

Directs the operations of the warehouse personnel to achieve prescribed objectives. Develops and maintains a productive staff by creating programs for hiring training and professional development.

Matches the skill and background of personnel to work required.

Develops and implements daily plan for allocating equipment to jobs.

Responsible for the management of equipment.

Coordinates the maintenance of equipment with local vendor.

Maintains a professional and courteous relationship with customers and ensures that all personnel do the same.

Requirements :

At least 7 years of management experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.

Computer applications using MS office and Excel.

Computer applications experience using WMS, must be able to navigate this system.

Working knowledge of warehouse / mechanical equipment.

Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA (as needed) regulations and the willingness to become certified in one or more of these areas as necessary.

Other:

Must be able to work in varying facility conditions.

Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed by the customer.

Must be able to execute job functions with little or no direct supervision.

Mon - Fri (weekends as needed)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
