Senior Estimator Commercial Construction

Location: Greater Little Rock, Arkansas
Compensation: $105,00-$120,000 base salary + annual deferred compensation bonus (equivalent to 2 weeks' pay)

Position Summary

The Senior Estimator will support preconstruction efforts by preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, disciplined cost analysis, and the ability to synthesize information from drawings, specifications, and subcontractor input to develop competitive proposals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and scope documents

  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment

  • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor bids and proposals

  • Develop complete estimate packages and present cost recommendations to leadership

  • Maintain and update estimating databases, cost histories, and production rates

  • Coordinate with preconstruction, project management, and executive teams to support bid strategy and project award

  • Ensure accuracy, risk assessment, and compliance with project requirements and company standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

  • Minimum 7 years of commercial construction estimating experience (general contractor experience strongly preferred)

  • Proficiency with construction documents, assemblies, and building systems

  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities

  • Experience with OST, Bluebeam, or comparable estimating and takeoff software

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple estimates simultaneously

  • Strong communication and coordination skills for cross-functional collaboration

  • Client-presentation experience not required; this role is primarily technical and internal-facing
