Staff Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) - Operating Room

We are seeking a highly skilled RNFA to join our dynamic operating room team. This role involves working closely with surgeons to ensure the safe delivery of care during surgical procedures. Ideal candidates will have strong perioperative experience and demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide both direct and indirect nursing care in perioperative settings
• Collaborate with the surgical team, serving as the first assistant to the surgeon
• Apply knowledge of surgical aseptic techniques and manage emergency situations with proficiency
• Lead patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Guide and educate ancillary personnel while upholding nursing standards
• Participate in call rotations and occasional weekend/evening shifts

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in perioperative nursing required; 1 year of med/surg nursing preferred
• Certifications: CNOR and BLS required; active RN license in Massachusetts; ACLS within 6 months of hire; RNFA certification within 2 years of hire
• Skills: Strong surgical aseptic technique, ability to perform effectively in high-stress and emergency situations, excellent communication skills, proficiency in English, current liability insurance.
