Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and resolve service-related challenges while ensuring clear communication and follow-through
- Actively participate in hospital-wide committees, serving as a representative and liaison for Surgical Services
- Advance the patient and physician experience within Surgical Services
- Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development to staff, ensuring adherence to HR policies
- Communicate organizational goals, policies, and industry updates to the department
- Implement evidence-based employee engagement strategies to foster a positive work environment
- Conduct staff and patient rounding, mentoring potential future leaders
- Develop and enforce standards of care and compliance protocols to ensure quality and safety
- Oversee surgical program development, ensuring alignment with hospital mission and patient care objectives
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital policies
- Lead a Performance Improvement (PI) program to evaluate and enhance critical aspects of care
- Drive fiscal responsibility, ensuring efficient utilization of financial resources
- Support new programs and service expansions to enhance patient care offerings
- Serve as an advocate for strategic growth, positioning the OR as the preferred choice for patients, physicians, and staff
- Represent the hospital with poise and professionalism, fostering internal and external partnerships
- Uphold the hospitals mission, values, and Code of Conduct
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required (as this is a Magnet Hospital)
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 3 years of recent acute care OR management experience
- CNOR (Certified Nursing Operating Room) preferred
- CSSM (Certified Surgical Services Manager) preferred
