A market leading global professional services organisation is currently recruiting a Deals Strategy & Operations Manager to support financial services M&A engagements.
About the Job
This role sits within a specialist deals advisory team providing operational and strategic support across mergers, acquisitions, and post-deal integration within the financial services sector. Working closely with senior advisers and client leadership teams, the position focuses on helping organisations assess, plan, and execute complex transactions to maximise value and achieve strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver operations-focused workstreams across financial services M&A engagements, including due diligence, integration, carve-outs, and PMO activities.
- Provide strategic and operational insight on deal-related projects, supporting clients through transaction execution and post-merger phases.
- Manage project planning, budgeting, execution, and delivery to agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with client stakeholders and internal advisory teams.
- Assess operating models, capabilities, and processes to identify opportunities for operational enhancement.
- Support alignment of operational initiatives with broader strategic objectives following transactions.
The Team
The role forms part of a multidisciplinary deals advisory practice, working alongside strategy, corporate finance, and operations specialists within a collaborative team environment.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8+ years of experience in consulting or advisory roles with exposure to M&A and deal-related projects within the financial services sector, including banking, insurance, wealth management, or related areas. Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities, experience in operational improvement and commercial or financial due diligence, and the ability to manage senior stakeholders are essential. A bachelors degree in business, finance, or a related discipline is required, with an advanced degree advantageous. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership capability, clear communication skills, and the ability to deliver complex projects in a regulated environment.
