Job Description:
Assistant Manager/Manager Financial Reporting
Interim responsibility of looking after the Financial Reporting function
Supervise the closing of the books and records of the Bank
Prepare financials and statutory accounts of the Bank, analytical review and execute prescribed controls (eg: balance sheet substantiation)
Liaise with internal and external auditors as well as local regulatory bodies as required
Review / prepare journal entries (depending on complexity)
Support the Financial Controller in managing projects related to financial reporting across all phases of project life cycle including (but not limited to) design of technical requirements, risk & mitigation plans, issue resolution, UAT and execution, identify interdependencies across other work streams within Finance department and other projects, where appropriate, manages communication with relevant stakeholders
Engage with vendors and project team whenever there are new reporting requirements by regulators/accounting development which necessitates enhancement to system.
Continuously review and streamlines processes, and enhance controls surrounding financial reporting functions
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are updated in a timely manner
Support the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley
The must haves:
5-7 years of working experience preferably in a financial institution
Bachelor's Degrees in Finance/Accounting or related fields
Knowledge in regulatory reporting would be an added advantage
Good interpersonal and communication skills;
Detail oriented and hands-on.
Assertive and driven to plan and execute while maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders, especially in the build-up stage of the Bank
Experience in working with cross border and functional teams
