Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international safety regulations and standards.
  • Design and enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring they align with best practices and industry standards.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments on all stages of transmission line projects (design, construction, testing, and commissioning).
  • Identify potential hazards and risks associated with the project and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Continuously evaluate the safety risks on-site and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs for all personnel involved in transmission line projects, including contractors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that all employees are trained on safety procedures, emergency response, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct regular safety drills and ensure all personnel are familiar with emergency evacuation plans.
  • Regularly inspect construction sites, equipment, and tools to ensure safety protocols are being followed.
  • Perform daily/weekly safety inspections to identify unsafe work practices and rectify issues.
  • Monitor the use of safety equipment and ensure that it is properly maintained and used.
  • Lead investigations of any accidents, incidents, or near misses on-site, ensuring a root cause analysis is conducted.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements in reporting incidents to relevant authorities.
  • Keep track of all safety documentation, permits, and safety-related reports for record-keeping and audit purposes.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans, including coordination with local authorities and emergency services.
  • Ensure the site is equipped with proper first aid facilities and that a trained first-aid team is available on-site.
  • Ensure that all contractors and subcontractors comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct safety orientations and inspections for external parties working on the transmission line projects.
