Metal Machinist

Join our team as a Metal Machinist for the afternoon shift at a well-established engineering company located in Mount Roskill. We pride ourselves on providing a supportive environment where you can develop your skills while delivering high quality, specialised services to our customers.

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both conventional and CNC machining as this role has a range of diversity which includes manual turning and milling, welding, CNC cylindrical grinding, CNC Turning and CNC Milling. This role requires precision, attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. All our machines are FANUC based and the incumbent will have to be very fluent in coding.

This is a full time role with OT on offer, for the afternoon shift 3.00PM to 11.30PM.

What you must have:

• 5+ years CNC metal machining experience, Doosan experience desirable
• Extensive experience in machining of Ferrous and non-ferrous metals
• Proficient in G and M coding (FANUC controller)
• Ceramic (hard) machining essential
• Mig or Tig welding experience needed
• Excellent interpretation for geometrical drawings and industry standards.
• Committed and hard-working with a quality focus
• Great communication skills in English
• Physically fit enough to carry out manual tasks
• A calm, mature approach to problem solving and ability to ask questions
• A willingness to learn and grow within the role and business
• Ability to work effectively with a wide-range of people from different cultural backgrounds

What would be ideal to have:

• Fitter Machinist or equivalent trade qualification.
• CNC Grinding experience
• CNC welding experience
• Twin pallet horizontal machining center experience
• Induction brazing knowledge desirable
• Heat treating exposure advantageous
• Metrology experience desirable
