SEM Specialist (AU Support)

About the Role

We are looking for a results-driven SEM Specialist to manage and optimise paid search campaigns across multiple client accounts. This role is focused on Google Ads and paid media performance, driving traffic, conversions, and ROI through data-driven strategies.

You will work closely with a digital marketing agency based in Perth, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients across different industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and optimise Google Ads campaigns (Search, Display, Shopping, Performance Max, and Video)
• Conduct keyword research and campaign structuring to maximise performance
• Perform daily campaign monitoring and optimisation, including bid adjustments, budget allocation, and A/B testing
• Analyse campaign performance and provide actionable insights to improve ROI and conversion rates
• Manage and optimise ad copy, extensions, and landing page alignment
• Implement and maintain conversion tracking using Google Tag Manager and GA4
• Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify growth opportunities
• Collaborate with internal teams to align paid campaigns with overall marketing strategy
• Prepare and present performance reports to stakeholders or clients

Requirements

• Proven experience in Search Engine Marketing (SEM), primarily using Google Ads
• MANDATORY: Prior experience working in a digital marketing agency handling multiple client accounts
• Strong understanding of:
  • Campaign structures (Search, Display, Shopping, Performance Max)
  • Bidding strategies and budget management
  • Conversion tracking and attribution
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Google Ads
  • Google Analytics (GA4)
  • Google Tag Manager
• Ability to manage multiple campaigns and clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain campaign performance and recommendations
