About the Role:

Our client is seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join their team in Middlesborough and surrounding areas. You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and those requiring spinal and bowel care. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals by promoting their independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and those requiring spinal and bowel care.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility support.
  • Implement and follow personalised care plans to meet the specific needs of each service user.
  • Support individuals in participating in community activities and social events, encouraging engagement and social interaction.
  • Monitor and report on the health and well-being of individuals, ensuring any changes are communicated promptly to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and any incidents or observations.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff.
  • Uphold the dignity, privacy, and rights of all individuals, promoting a person-centred approach to care.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including safeguarding and health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role, providing care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and those requiring spinal and bowel care.
  • Experience and training in learning disability, autism, epilepsy, and spinal/bowel care are essential.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with service users, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
