Research & Development Director (Processed Meat)
Job Description:
The R&D Director for Processed Meat will lead the development and implementation of innovative processed meat products. This role involves overseeing product development from concept to commercialization, ensuring product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation, optimize processes, and improve existing products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Develop strategic plans for R&D projects, aligning with company goals and market trends.
- Manage R&D budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently. Product Development:
- Oversee the development of new processed meat products from concept to market launch. Conduct market research and analyze consumer trends to identify new product opportunities. Ensure product formulations meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Process Optimization:
- Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to optimize production processes.
- Implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to product development and manufacturing.
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products comply with relevant food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to develop and maintain high standards for product quality.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure timely implementation of necessary changes.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to align R&D projects with business objectives.
- Communicate R&D project status, challenges, and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, suppliers, and research institutions.
Qualifications:
- Relocate to Vietnam
- Bachelors degree in food science, Meat Science, Food Technology, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in food product development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the processed meat industry.
- In-depth knowledge of meat processing technologies, product formulation, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to lead and manage R&D teams, with strong project management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and results to diverse audiences.
- Experience with sensory evaluation and consumer testing.
- Familiarity with advanced meat processing equipment and automation technologies.
