Job Title: Capital Operations Analyst
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Reports To: Head of Finance
Role Summary
The Capital Operations Analyst will handle various tasks related to investment and financial
operations. Responsibilities include reviewing and processing investment documentation,
ensuring accurate recording of transactions, assisting with loan documentation, communicating
with stakeholders, and contributing to quarterly valuations. The role also involves participating
in ad hoc projects assigned by the Investment Team and Management, and actively contributing
to the maintenance of strong internal controls within the organization.
Core Responsibilities
Capital Management & Operations:
Support asset and portfolio management activities as needed.
Coordinate with developers and partners to receive ongoing project status updates.
Maintain key financial performance indicators (IRR, MOIC, project timelines) for
individual projects and the portfolio.
Improve fund flow processes and update financial models at both fund and asset levels.
Assess potential investments to ensure alignment with investment policy in terms of risk,
valuation, and quality.
Reporting and Documentation:
Create and maintain pitchbooks for fundraising and Limited Partner (LP) reporting
requirements.
Prepare investment memos and financial models for the Investment Committee, including
due diligence checks on documents and information provided by developers.
Develop fund flow memos and cash reports for funds.
Relationship Building:
Communicate with developers to understand their deal pipeline and evaluate their
relationships with channel partners to estimate deal closing probabilities.
Share key takeaways from relevant meetings with teammates across the region.
Support communication with debt and equity providers on a regular basis.
Process Improvement and Risk Assessment:
Assist with model updates, compile monthly reports for investors, and handle investor
inquiries.
Support the implementation of new software solutions for data integrity and reporting.
Help create and improve written workflows related to portfolio management tasks,
including investment processes, model updates, and reporting.
Prepare liquidity management reports via fund flow memos.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, or Business.
3-5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and internal reporting tools.
Excellent communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments concurrently.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to structure unstructured problems.
Professional working proficiency in English and Japanese.
