Job Title: Origination & Development Analyst
Location: Japan
Reports To: Senior Manager, Origination and Development

Goal and Summary of the Role

The goal is to support our team in acquiring, developing, and managing renewable energy projects and grid-scale BESS projects to expand our pipeline. Your responsibilities include managing project acquisition and development, assessing projects, negotiating with stakeholders, and submitting all related permits. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Core Responsibilities

  • Manage project pipelines.
  • Engage with local developers, real estate brokers, and landowners to gather information on potential projects.
  • Maintain and update the project pipeline list to follow up on origination opportunities.
  • Report to the Leader of Origination & Development and other key senior leadership.
  • Assess the feasibility of projects from various perspectives, such as landscape, grid capacity, and permits.
  • Conduct financial model assessments to confirm project feasibility.
  • Perform site visits to identify any potential risks.
  • Negotiate with landowners and project owners on land prices and other terms.
  • Stay updated on all related regulations.
  • Perform all related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in the renewable energy sector.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internal reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on multiple assignments concurrently.
  • Ability to structure and solve unstructured problems.
  • Based in Japan, with some domestic travel required.
  • Professional working proficiency in Japanese and ideally English.
