Factory Manager (high-end garments/Chinese Speaking)

Job Purpose: Assists the General Manager in planning, leading, organizing and controlling all operational strategies developed that are aligned with business objectives
Key Accountabilities
- Implementation of operational strategies
Plans, leads, organizes and implements factory operational strategies that are developed to achieve over-all business objectives of the factory
Tasks/Activities:
- Plans, organizes and leads implementation of operational strategies to address identified people and process gaps to achieve business objectives
- Implements management controls and monitors progress by reviewing KPI results to ensure execution of the plan.
- Plans and implements counter-measures on forecasted potential business problems so that impact will be avoided or be minimized and controlled.
- Takes a lead role in managing factory performance variances between actual and plan. Monitors and follows through on results
- Regularly monitors production and shipment status of all orders of the factory to ensure on-time delivery
- Liaise with buyer representatives on quality and delivery problems and provide technical advise to the factory on problem resolution
- Directly decides on any re-allocation and adjustment needed in Clusters 1 & 3 production to address delivery issues
- Liaise with Organizational Change and Development & IE Departments on special projects pertaining to process and operations improvements. Monitor and follow-through on results

- Meets Expectations: Planning and implementation of operational plan developed based on general directions set. 100% target hit rate on KPIs on efficiency, quality, on-time delivery and cost.
- Above Expectations: 100% execution of operational plan. Exceeding at least 1 KPI target set
2. Cost Control
Reviews, plans and operationalizes approved annual budgets based on financial targets and implement cost control measures based on approved budget.
Tasks/Activities:
- Reviews and understands the financial goals of the company in terms of cost/min and profitability ratios
- Monitors and controls provision and use of approved resource budgets on headcount, overhead & other related variable costs that is aligned with the financial goals of the company.
- Implements cost control measures to ensure compliance to the budget. Seeks approval from the GM on:
- Hiring/staffing
- Salary increases among staff
- Sunday and holiday work
- Purchase of capital expenditure
- Air pre-paid shipments
- Reviews and controls cost pertaining to utilities, factory supplies consumption and other non-labor variable costs
- Regularly review Factory Cost Reports and address any variation between plan and actual
- Performance Standards
- Meets Expectations: 100% hit rate on target factory cost per minute. 0 air prepaid shipments caused by factory inefficiency
- Above Expectations: Surpassing cost targets set by management

QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree of any business course or at least college level but with significant manufacturing experience at senior manager level
- Minimum of ten (10) year experience as Factory or Sr. Manager in a garment manufacturing firm of at least 2,000 employees. Experience working in any garment factory in the Philippines, an advantage.
- Solid background and experience in garment manufacturing processes, (warehousing & inventory management & control, material inspection, cutting, sewing, pressing, quality assurance and control, packaging, importing and exporting standard procedures), planning, budgeting & control, lean manufacturing, technical and quality requirements, garment machinery planning & maintenance
- Effective spoken and written English and Chinese communication skills. Knowledge of Tagalog, an advantage.
- Adequate computer skills, MS Word, MS Excel, E-mail
