Job Summary:
The Purchasing Supervisor will oversee the procurement activities for the company, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, particularly those imported from China. This role requires proficiency in Chinese languages for effective communication with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production logistics, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Management:
Communicate effectively with suppliers in China to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
Identify and evaluate potential second sources and local suppliers to mitigate risks.
Procurement Process:
Oversee the entire procurement process from order placement to delivery.
Verify and justify purchasing orders before submitting them to senior management for approval.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all procurement activities.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels in the warehouse to maintain optimal stock levels.
Manage safety stock levels to prevent stockouts and production delays.
Coordinate with the production team to align procurement activities with production schedules.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
Prepare and manage the procurement budget.
Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising on quality.
Analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
Negotiation and Contract Management:
Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
Ensure all contracts are in compliance with legal and company standards.
Resolve any disputes or issues with suppliers promptly and effectively.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Chinese languages for effective communication with suppliers.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production logistics.
Strong understanding of inventory management, including safety stock levels and ordering lead times.
Ability to verify and justify purchasing orders before submission for approval.
Experience in budgeting and cost control.
Excellent negotiation skills and experience with contract terms and conditions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
