Quality Assurance Engineer (QA, funiture, sourcing office)

Key Responsibilities:
1. Enforce and ensure the organisations quality standards and protocols.
- Together with the BD, develop and ensure that all products are developed and manufactured in line with customer and requirements (material, finish, construction, mandatory standard etc).
- Partner with BD to audit new factories, qualify and recommend new suppliers from a technical and quality perspective, compliance and standards
- Conduct inline inspection of the process and ensure that guidelines and protocols are being followed
- Ensure suppliers received and manufacture the products according to technical specifications and all specified requirement consistently for every batch.
- Responsible for ensuring that all articles have full technical documents and upload all documents on system timely. (Before first inspection)
- Set the standards for defect classifications being used in AQL based quality inspections.
- Carry out full annual inline inspection product review on consistent articles to ensure they are always within specification according to the technical documents.
2. Checking of samples and preproduction sample / master sample.
- Check and approve samples of new products (for customers) against agreed specifications from Sales and ensure they are manufactured in line with specified material quality, construction, workmanship and finishing.
- perform sample inspection, generate sample report for sale review, and coordinate the sample shipment out with BS.
- Run in-house tests on the product before sending to testing labs to ensure due diligence.
- Follow up, check and coordinate all test lab report, assembly instruction, carton label, loading instruction are in order and submit to customer/central Quality Engineer within timeline.
- Conduct final inspection confirmation for new articles alongside QC.
- Checks QC inspection reports for new article, new supplier and/or new customer which is deemed as high risk.
- Maintain proper record of BOM and quality compliance for each product. This including identification of high-risk materials and waivers received from customer.
- Change and update approve samples/swatches to ensure they are accurate for reference during QC inspections
3. Ensure clear and consistent product communication and provides development ideas
- Prepare technical specifications for new products, packaging instructions, labelling instructions, detailed quality requirements and loading instructions (where required by customers) and send to Quality Manager for approval.
- Ensure suppliers received latest updated technical documents including all required documentation and fully understood the instructions before commencing mass production.
- Documents all technical information received from customers requirements onto the technical documents, so that factories have all relevant information required to manufacture the right product.
4. Managing products claim
- Prepare and follow up on action plans for any failures, product returns or claims.
- Ensure all corrective actions are implemented in suppliers processes to prevent recurrence of similar claims
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of technical/quality experience (Furniture/Building)
- Have good experience in factory and process audit
- Good understanding of workmanship quality
- Supplier quality improvement
- Good knowledge in product failure analysis `
- Good knowledge in risk assessment of product, material quality, construction, workmanship and finishing
- Degree education specialise in Quality Management, Engineering or equivalent.
