RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & AUTHORITIES:
TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT
- Make sure Product Development Procedure is followed for construction and drawings.
- Chair and manage prototype technical reviews.
- Perform risk analysis for new products and identify Critical To Quality (CTQ) parameters for products and processes.
- Plan and follow up on sample orders to deliver right quality on time and report to client if delays.
- Ensure technical drawings and materials specifications are finished in due time for preparation for mass production.
- Develop and maintain QA procedures and work instructions for TD.
- Answer and evaluate technical questionnaires and requirements from customers.
- Manage and control construction changes (ECR)
TESTING
- Budget and cost responsible for the Test Center Department. Continuous improvement in terms of testing capacity and cost reduction.
- To prepare the test standards and test procedure following the EN standards, ASTM standards, ISO standards and customer standards.
- Maintain and develop new Work Instruction & Procedure as needed.
- To implement the product test as required standards or customer test procedure.
- To increase and improve the reliability of product test via the latest updated standards.
- To communicate with and feed back to other departments (Design Team, Sales, Production ) about the test results.
- To communicate with external test lab for the test report and test standards.
- Assist the technical team in identifying solutions and CAPAs when needed.
- Manage the Test equipment, machines and improvements so that the department can perform all testing standards in case.
- Training & development of subordinates in SOP and Standards.
- To conduct value engineering and suggest design engineering to hit the target prices.
REQUIREMENT:
- Minimum 5-years experience in Engineering field and/or in furniture manufacturing.
- Applicant must have a bachelors degree and above Engineering, Engineering Technology, Furniture, Supply Chain Planning or related disciplines.
- Candidates need to have solid technical expertise, Deep understanding of furniture construction, understand new tools, technologies, and basic concepts of data and engineering design.
- Good knowledge of CAD and Inventor.
- Adept at developing standards, procedures, and best practices for ensuring quality construction.
- Ability to lead and supervise all activities associated with product engineering.
- English proficiency and computing skills.
- Good management and organization skills.
- Outstanding skills in the use of Excel, ERP experience is an added advantage
