Assistant Technical Manager (Network Security)
Job Description:
- Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring and upgrading security measures for the protection of customers data, systems and networks.
- Troubleshooting security and network problems.
- Responding to customers system and/or network security breaches.
- Ensuring that customer's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
- Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.
- Daily administrative tasks, reporting and communication with the relevant parties.
- Testing for Network Security Vulnerabilities Network security engineer evaluate, test, and troubleshoot technologies. Network security engineer is expected to identify, diagnose, and resolve information security issues.
- Prepare Reports Based on findings, network security engineer writes comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for further system security enhancement.
- Produce Documentation - To ensure proper protocols and processes are in place, network security engineers create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to network and security infrastructure.
- Create Network Security Policies Network security engineer plays a role in devising comprehensive network security policies. This includes determining security issues that need to be addressed; identifying security strategies needed to deal with the risks, implementing policies for allocating administrative tasks; keeping on top of audit logs to flag suspicious activity.
- Manage Vendor Relationships It is important to keep strong relationships with customer, principal and distributor to maintain upgrades, installations, and planning alongside exploration of new features and innovative solutions.
Requirements:- A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or a related qualification.
- 5 years and more of work experience with network routing or Firewalls (functionality and maintenance) or Network Switches (Juniper or Cisco) or Cloud Infrastructure Setup.
- Possess CCNP or relevant cloud security certifications are an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and problem-solving skills.
- Awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques (optional)
- Multitaskers and project manager.
- Think proactively to get ahead of issues before they arise.
- Well organized and Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Enterprise firewall experience experience configuring and managing enterprise network routing or gateway devices is important in this role
- Communication skills it is crucial that network security engineer has the ability to communicate network security issues to peers and management clearly and effectively.
- Adaptability network security engineer typically works as a member of several teams, which requires flexibility and adaptability. Candidates interested in this role should be comfortable working in a matrixed IT environment.
- Problem-solving skills it is the network security engineers job to solve problems.
- Security incidents can happen at any time and its expected that these engineers will research, escalate, and resolve issues effectively.
