About the Company and Role

We are hiring a Senior Platform Engineer for our client, an international fintech company building a proprietary trading infrastructure from the ground up.

As the company continues to scale its engineering organization, it is establishing a dedicated Platform Engineering function to standardize infrastructure, improve developer experience, and help engineering teams deliver software faster and more reliably.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building the internal platform, automating infrastructure, and developing self-service tooling to support multiple development teams. You'll contribute to core platform capabilities, influence technical direction, and help establish engineering standards as the function grows.

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, improving developer workflows, and building reliable platforms that accelerate software delivery and improve efficiency.

Tech Stack: AWS (ECS, EC2, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM), Terraform, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Spacelift, GitOps, Datadog, Kubernetes, Cloudflare.

Location: Dubai, UAE (full-time, office-based).

What kind of qualifications we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps roles;
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS ECS and other core AWS services;
  • Deep hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform;
  • Experience building and maintaining GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines;
  • Strong understanding of GitOps principles and declarative infrastructure management;
  • Experience building internal developer platforms, self-service tooling, or developer enablement solutions;
  • Strong scripting and automation skills;
  • Experience with observability and monitoring platforms (Datadog is a plus);
  • Strong understanding of designing scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure;
  • Startup, fintech, or proprietary trading experience is highly valued;
  • English B2+ (confident communication with international teams).

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain internal developer platforms and self-service tooling;
  • Standardize deployment processes and create reusable development workflows;
  • Build infrastructure automation using Terraform, Spacelift, and AWS services;
  • Develop and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines;
  • Implement GitOps-based deployment workflows and infrastructure management processes;
  • Implement observability and monitoring solutions to improve platform visibility and reliability;
  • Partner with development teams to understand their needs and build solutions that improve engineering productivity;
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and reduce manual operational work;
  • Contribute to cloud cost optimization (FinOps), deployment improvements, and platform scalability;
  • Establish platform security and infrastructure best practices while maintaining developer velocity;
  • Contribute to the technical direction and long-term evolution of the Platform Engineering function.

Nice to have:

  • Experience building an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) or self-service platform solutions;
  • Experience with Spacelift or similar infrastructure automation platforms;
  • Experience with Cloudflare services;
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, or other container orchestration platforms;
  • Experience with service mesh technologies or API gateways;
  • Familiarity with developer portal solutions such as Backstage, Port, or similar platforms;
  • Previous experience in fintech, proprietary trading firms, or other high-performance environments;
  • Open source contributions, technical writing, or public speaking experience.
