Job Title: Head of Business Development
Location: V.I, Lagos
The Head of Business Development (BDM) leads the banks growth strategy, driving account openings, liability generation, and loan/asset creation. This senior leadership role involves sales strategy execution, key client relationship management, and achieving business targets. Reporting to the Managing Director/CEO, the BDM ensures business expansion, profitability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Acquisition & Account Opening: Identify and onboard new individual, SME, and corporate clients. Assess financial needs and recommend banking solutions.
- Liability Generation: Drive deposits through savings, current, and fixed deposit accounts. Develop strategies to enhance customer retention and deposits.
- Loan & Asset Creation: Identify and assess loan applicants, manage credit evaluations, and facilitate loan disbursements. Cross-sell related banking products.
- Market Research & Strategy: Monitor industry trends, identify growth opportunities, and collaborate with marketing for promotional campaigns.
- Sales & Performance Management: Achieve sales targets for accounts, deposits, and loans. Maintain CRM data and provide reports to management.
- Customer Relationship Management: Manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) and corporate clients. Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to banking regulations, KYC, AML policies, and internal guidelines. Maintain accurate documentation.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor the business development team, fostering a high-performance culture. Coordinate with internal teams for seamless service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or related field (MBA/professional certifications preferred).
- 7+ years in business development, sales, or relationship management in banking/financial services.
- Proven track record in account openings, deposits, and loan disbursements.
- Strong banking product knowledge, financial analysis, and credit assessment skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
