Job Description:

Our client is seeking a number of motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Trainee Farm Managers to join their prestigious agricultural organisation based in County Monaghan. As a Graduate Trainee Farm Manager, you will work closely with experienced professionals, participate in various operations, and develop essential skills for a successful career in agriculture. Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a team of supervisors to ensure crop yield is maximised
  • Managing a team of multi-national mushroom harvesters and operational staff.
  • Collaborate with senior farm managers to plan, coordinate, and execute daily operations, ensuring the efficient and sustainable use of resources.
  • Gain practical experience in crop cultivation and mechanized farming techniques.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of planting, harvesting, and post-harvest activities to maximize yields and quality.
  • Learn to operate and maintain farm equipment, machinery, and irrigation systems.
  • Assist in managing pest and disease control strategies using integrated pest management (IPM) principles.
  • Monitor and manage farm budgets, expenses, and record-keeping under the guidance of senior managers.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of environmental sustainability initiatives on the farm.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Attend training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance knowledge of modern farming techniques and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
  • Passion for agriculture and a genuine interest in farm management and sustainable farming practices.

  • Basic knowledge of farming equipment and machinery is a plus.
