Introduction/Overview

East Coast Contracting, a leading site development company specializing in underground utilities, sewer systems, grading, clearing, drainage, and pre-construction site preparation, is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager/Estimator. This critical role requires a motivated and experienced professional ready to hit the ground running, manage projects with precision, and represent the company as a key liaison for clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Estimation & Management:

    • Use advanced 3D estimating software (Ag-Tek preferred) for grading and site work cost calculations.
    • Oversee site development projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Client Liaison & Business Development:

    • Act as the primary representative of East Coast Contracting for clients, engineers, and stakeholders.
    • Proactively pursue and secure private work opportunities, enhancing the company's portfolio.
  • Bid Preparation & Oversight:

    • Attend pre-bid meetings and develop comprehensive, accurate bid proposals.
    • Negotiate subcontracts and oversee all aspects of contract management, including change orders.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Manage site superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring seamless coordination and adherence to safety standards.
    • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high performance.
  • Operational Excellence:

    • Track project progress, maintain detailed schedules and budgets, and communicate updates effectively.
    • Uphold company safety policies and ensure all projects meet quality and compliance standards.

Required Skills and Expertise

  • Experience:
    • 5 years in site development and utility construction project management.
    • Strong grading estimation experience is mandatory.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in 3D estimating software (Ag-Tek preferred).
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and scheduling software.
  • Professional Attributes:
    • Strong communicator with a confident personality capable of representing the company effectively.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and develop private sector opportunities.
    • Stable work history (no job hoppers).
    • No union affiliations.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
