About the job Legal Affairs Manager

Qualifications & Education:

  • At least 7 years banking sector experience.
  • Experience of advising on diverse legal issues
  • Experience of mediation and litigation
  • Professional legal qualification equivalent to Bachelors degree
    Knowledge:
  • Extensive knowledge of banking sector legal theory and practice.
  • Understanding of UAE & DIFC legal procedures.

Generic Accountabilities:

  • Corporate Governance and Compliance Work fully within risk policies and procedures and compliance regulations.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Litigation advice Advise on deceased claims, internal regulations, labor disputes, companys liquidation & internal legal taxation issues.
  • Initiate legal proceedings Arrange and cooperate with law firms to initiate legal proceedings to recover customer liabilities.
  • Mediation and negotiation Deploy mediation and negotiation as an alternative to litigation
  • Advice to head office legal affairs : Provide advice to counsel and ensure counsel is fully briefed
  • Reports Report on the status of cases and communicate these to head office legal affairs and to divisions who need to be informed
  • Contract development Drive the contract development from drafting to completion of the negotiation process
  • Legal advice and opinion Draft, analyze and respond to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs or customers terms & conditions as required.
  • Advice Advise on contract templates, contract policy, legal risk and liability and maintain banks position
  • Contract Negotiation: Ensure quality advise on optimal contract terms protecting banks commercial interests and legal rights
  • Contracts & agreements Approve local contracts and agreements and ensure banks interests are protected.
