We are seeking a highly experienced Procurement Engineer with a proven track record in MEP systems and EPC project negotiation. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the procurement lifecycleright from vendor evaluation to contract finalizationensuring project timelines, quality, and budget compliance are met.
This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional negotiation skills and deep technical knowledge of MEP packages across large-scale EPC projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies specifically for MEP systems and services within EPC projects.
- Prepare RFQs/RFPs, technical and commercial bid evaluations, and manage vendor communications.
- Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and market research to optimize procurement spend.
- Lead complex vendor negotiations to ensure favorable pricing, delivery, and commercial terms.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and project management teams to ensure procurement aligns with project goals and technical specifications.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain an approved vendor list compliant with quality and safety standards.
- Review and draft purchase orders and subcontracts while ensuring adherence to company policies and project specifications.
- Monitor and track material delivery schedules and resolve potential supply chain bottlenecks proactively.
- Participate in project progress meetings, reporting on procurement activities, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international procurement laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of procurement experience in the MEP sector, with a strong background in EPC projects.
- Demonstrated experience in high-value contract negotiation and vendor management.
- Solid understanding of technical MEP systems (HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.).
- Proficient in using procurement systems and tools such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical mindset, and risk assessment skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Arabic is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
