Location- Sydney- 5 days a fortnight from office (or 50% monthly)

Term- 12 months (230 business days capped)

Overview:

The role is a Data Analyst will be supporting with their migration to a full acquirer stack managed by Fidelity Information Services (FIS) as part of its Merchant Modernisation (MEMO) program.

General Key Responsibilities

Remediation & Migration Analysis:

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis into customer, transaction, and product data to support migration readiness and identify remediation needs.
  • Design and maintain migration tracking tools, exception reports, and risk flags.
  • Collaborate with product and operations teams to resolve data discrepancies or transformation logic.

Data Governance & Quality:

  • Validate source-target mapping across legacy and new systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with governance rules.
  • Partner with Data Management teams on standard definitions and lineage tracking.

Data Mapping & Migration File Preparation:

  • Lead data mapping activities between legacy and target systems, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
  • Build and validate files (or equivalent migration input files) to support phased customer transitions.
  • Coordinate with developers and testers to ensure data mapping logic is accurately implemented and quality assured.

Automation & Data Engineering:

  • Automate data processing pipelines and reporting workflows using Python and SQL.
  • Build modular scripts and parameterized frameworks for batch processing and auditing.

Dashboards & Reporting:

  • Develop interactive dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or Streamlit to provide stakeholders with real-time insights.
  • Design scalable reporting solutions for tracking remediation progress, and migration waves.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Translate technical outputs into clear business insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Facilitate discussions with multiple teams (product, operations, vendors, risk, compliance).
  • Write business-friendly documentation for data logic, assumptions, and findings.


Technical Skills & Experience

Skill Area

Required Expertise

Python- Advanced scripting for automation, ETL, remediation checks, and data transformation

SQL (Teradata, Oracle)- Expert level. Able to write complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and optimize queries

Data Visualization- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Streamlit

Excel/Sheets- Advanced formulas, pivots, lookups, and formatting for business consumption

Version Control- Proficient in Git for collaborative development and version tracking

Cloud/Data Tools- Exposure to AWS SageMaker (preferred but not mandatory)

Jupyter Notebooks- Comfortable using notebooks for analysis and stakeholder storytelling

Experience & Background

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Analytics Specialist in Financial Services. 
  • Proven experience supporting data migrations, system transitions, or customer remediation programs. 
  • Experience working in a highly structured, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Experience in regulated environments with strong data controls (banking, insurance, telco, etc.).
