PURPOSE OF JOB

The Project Manager will lead the setup and execution of a project management office to oversee clients card conversion program. Acting as the central coordination point between the company and the client, the PM will ensure seamless planning, stakeholder alignment, and delivery across all phases of the migration. This includes strategy development, marketing communications, operational execution, and post-conversion optimization.


TASKS

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Conversion Planning

  • Establish and operate a Project Management Office (PMO) to oversee the conversion program.
  • Conduct pre-conversion discovery and portfolio analysis to assess operational impacts and define business/resource requirements.
  • Develop and agree on the Migration Masterplan with all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with IT, Marketing, Procurement, and Product teams to align deliverables with the masterplan.

Conversion Strategy Development

  • Define the overall migration strategy and success metrics.
  • Prioritize customer segments and allocate appropriate treatments.
  • Document the proposed customer conversion journey and operational workflows.

Marketing Communications

  • Develop a comprehensive marketing and communication plan.
  • Oversee creative development and customer messaging in collaboration with third-party agencies.
  • Align communication treatments with customer segments and migration matrix.

Conversion Execution & Management

  • Lead day-to-day execution of the migration program.
  • Manage internal communications and conduct train-the-trainer sessions.
  • Track delivery milestones, manage risks/issues, and ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Organize and lead Steering Committee meetings with the company and client executives.

Post Conversion Support

  • Monitor KPIs and metrics from the clients analytics team.
  • Drive activation and first-use campaigns for converted cardholders.
  • Ensure portfolio optimization activities are executed to influence desired customer behavior.
  • Maintain logs, meeting minutes, and action items for continuous reporting.


KPIs

  • Successful setup and operation of the PMO.
  • Timely development and approval of the Migration Masterplan.
  • Accurate documentation of customer conversion journeys.
  • Achievement of conversion performance targets.
  • Effective coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Execution of portfolio optimization and activation campaigns.
  • Adherence to project timelines and governance protocols.
  • Resolution of risks/issues with minimal disruption.
  • Regular and transparent reporting to the Steering Committee.


Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in business/technology, or related field.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
  • 10+ years of project management experience, preferably in banking or payments.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale card migration or product launches.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in Pakistans banking ecosystem.
  • Exposure of card scheme migration programs.
  • Technical fluency to engage with IT and digital delivery teams.
  • Ability to manage regulatory and compliance aspects of card programs.
