PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT

The Strategy Analyst will be responsible for supporting strategic planning and business decision making by providing actionable insights, undertaking financial modelling & forecasting, data driven analysis and solution conceptualisation. The role's primary purpose is to help identify market opportunities, assess competitive dynamics, and evaluate the performance of products and initiatives across South Africa.

The responsible will analyse trends, financial metrics, and market data, including playing a critical role in shaping strategic initiatives, optimising operations, and enable the business to achieve its regional objectives.

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Deliver research, forecasts, and recommendations that inform business strategy and support sustainable growth.
  • Analyse trends, financial metrics, and market data, and play a critical role in shaping strategic initiatives, optimising operations, and enable the business to achieve its regional objectives.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management to support decision-making and track progress against strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders to align strategic initiatives, ensure accurate data interpretation, and implement recommendations effectively.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Prior experience in strategy, management consulting, business analysis, or corporate planning roles.
  • A track record in analysing complex business problems and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Working with large datasets to extract insights, build dashboards, and produce reports, including the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, concise reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Building financial, operational, or scenario models to evaluate business opportunities, investments, and strategic initiatives.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Previous experience within Banking, Digital Payment & Card solutions or the FinTech industry.
  • The ability to work in a faced-paced matrix organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written, verbal, and presentation).

Preferred Skills:

  • Good understanding of payment systems, digital platforms, system workflows, security basics, and industry technologies.
  • An understanding of regional regulations across financial services or payment networks.
