We are looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager to join a bank in Melbourne. This is a contract opportunity for 12 months (part time or full time)
The Team Issuing & Acquiring
The functions performed by the Card Issuing and Acquiring team play a key role in helping to build strong connections with our customers. The ability to transact and make payments in a manner that the customer chooses and that suits them, with ease and reliability, is core to the foundations of the customer experience. Card Issuing products are key components to drive the growth of our overall consumer and business banking businesses.
Strategic priorities for the Cards Issuing Products Team are:
- Deliver a competitive and profitable set of Card products
- Grow our base of cardholders, both by increasing the penetration of current Bank customers with card products and also acquiring new to Bank customers with a competitive card offering
- Ensure the spend targets set in the Mastercard incentive agreement are achieved
- Provide governance of the overall Mastercard issuing incentive agreement
Role Purpose
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for supporting the Senior Portfolio & Propositions Manager with the management and performance of the card products.
Responsibilities:
- Understand performance of current products, manage product P&L performance to collaborate with key stakeholders on developing initiatives to improve overall profitability
- Manage the end to end customer lifecycle across card products
- Manage and implement card product features in response to market landscape change with business case/target to ensure profitable return on investments (i.e. CVP, pricing reviews)
- Deliver on product plan to deliver revenue & customer growth
- Manage day-to-day partnerships across the portfolio (Qantas, Cash Passport, Allianz, RSPCA and Mastercard).
Accountabilities
Product Development
- Ensure that the Product lifecycle framework is followed where developing ideas and initiatives
Risk
- Ensure work practices are conducted in accordance with all Bank compliance requirements, as specified in Bank policy, corporate and business unit procedures and identify and report instances of non-compliance to line management
- Monitor the regulatory landscape to identify potential impacts to products or processes
- Actively support the Risk Specialist to investigate root causes contributing to risk issues and events
- Be a part of an effective risk management culture within the team by ensuring that you manage your own personal responsibilities for risk
Problem Solving & Analysis
- Ability to work through complex problems and provide solutions and recommendations
- Ability to draw concise recommendations from the analysis of data
- Participate in cross functional teams as a subject matter expert for transformation projects
Relationship & Stakeholder Management
- Build successful relationships with stakeholders from within the transformation initiatives and across the group
- Demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm to promote teamwork both within the team and more broadly in the organization.
Your Experience
- Strong Portfolio Management in the cards & payments field
- Excellent Relationship Management skills
- Strong issuing and acquiring product knowledge
