Mandatory experience: Focus on reconciliation, settlement, and
implementation of Mastercard mandates. Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages (Arabic) is a plus. 


Purpose of Job:

The Card Operations Lead will play a pivotal role in managing card operations processes, ensuring seamless integration of systems for daily operational activities. This role involves reconciliation and settlement processes for Mastercard accounts, chargeback processes, and quarterly reporting for the schemes. The candidate will also be involved in testing transactions, clearing, and settlement processes, and resolving issues with the technology team. 


Tasks:

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Execute card operations processes and integrate systems for daily activities. 
  • Analyse Mastercard / Scheme mandates and support the implementation of changes to align with said mandates. 
  • Manage reconciliation and settlement processes for Mastercard accounts
  • Execute chargeback processes for accounts and manage settlements.
  • Prepare quarterly reports for the schemes.
  • Test transactions, clear transactions, and manage settlement processes.
  • Identify and resolve issues with the technology team.
  • Manage General Ledgers (GLs) for accounts for nostro settlements, income, and expense recognitions, and chargebacks.
  • Train card operations and fraud teams on scheme mandates, chargeback processes, compliance, operational processes, and reconciliation and settlement processes.
  • Streamline existing processes, including automation, to reduce time consumption and errors through training and new methodologies.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Extensive experience in card operations, specifically in reconciliation, settlement, and chargeback processes.
  • Strong understanding of MC accounts and related processes.
  • Experience with Mastercard mandates and reporting requirements.
  • Proven track record of identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Experience in training and developing teams

SKILLS

Technical requirements:

  • Proficiency in card operations systems (CMS) and software.
  • Knowledge of reconciliation and settlement processes for Cards.
  • Familiarity with General Ledger (GL) setup and management.
  • Experience with transaction testing and settlement processes.
