Job Description

To define and create Consumer Digital Mobile offerings according to relevant product, segment and channel requirements.

To contribute and enable the delivery of digital product solutions and portfolio that provide opportunities to grow the Banks business. Work as part of cross-functional teams in unison to develop digital solutions. To define, develop and deliver amazing customer centric products that will elevate brand.

Key Responsibility

  • Own and manage the delivery of Mobile Banking across multiple delivery squads driving innovation and the best customer experience in the market.
  • Own the KPIs for driving digital usage, activation and engagement in collaboration with the user experience and sales and activation and product teams.

Responsibilities

Product ownership

  • Represent, interface and engage with the business team and technology s and act as the voice of the market to drive creation of value adding digital solutions.
  • Understand the customer, market and business needs and align them with the strategic direction of the business segment and organization.
  • Responsible for overall agile product development for mobile across the banks services and products.
  • Build and manage the mobile banking requirements roadmap and associated backlog

Product vision

  • Collate information from various stakeholders and structure it to develop an overall product vision and roadmap
  • Responsible for communicating clearly to all the respective agile teams.
  • Responsible for the product and product features from conception to delivery.
  • Act as the voice of business and be empowered to make decisions that would drive the product development and bring all streams together towards a single goal.
  • Set the product roadmap for digital products in development.
  • Align different stakeholders on the priorities and features to be built for different releases.

Strategic Contribution

  • Ensure effective cascading of the functional strategy into department business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies.

People Management

  • Motivate and work directly with the agile development team and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure all team members are communicating with other teams effectively to produce quality deliverables in line with the product vision.
  • Align team objectives for agile development to the overall target business performance KPIs.
  • Collaborate with technical/discipline experts and align teams according to business requirements.
  • Act as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of the assigned department to foster a values driven culture within the bank.

Budgeting and Financial Planning

  • Provide necessary inputs into the preparation and recommendation of business budget requirements in order to fulfil the development and delivery of digital products and ensuring all activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Manage and ensure effective implementation of product functional policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned department and business segment activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Reporting

  • Ensure that all unit reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet Bank requirements, policies and quality standards.

Product management

  • Own and manage the delivery of mobile banking across multiple delivery squads
  • Build and manage the mobile requirements roadmap and associated backlog
  • Create product requirements in forms of epics, themes and stories and provide direction to the agile teams to execute on those requirements
  • Define, build launch digital solutions for the bank. Move quickly with a focused vision to get things implemented and done. Break down complex problems into actionable solutions.
  • Responsible for timely and successful delivery of products, anticipating bottlenecks, making tradeoffs and welcoming an acceptable level of risk to maximize business benefit.

Agile

  • Drive one or more agile squads to build and launch amazing digital products
  • Empower the product team and agile coach to manage the backlog to create a release and iteration plan based on the roadmap
  • Lead the product release planning and set expectation of delivery of new features.

Communication

  • Communicate effectively with the different teams (business, design, technology, security, legal etc.) to ensure visibility into the departments direction.
  • Communicate the product vision to key stakeholders and interested parties. It is crucial that the business understands the solutions in development to ensure successful delivery.

Product advocate

  • Propagate and spread knowledge about the solutions in development to stakeholders and non-stakeholders alike

Be on top of technology advancements and market realities, and how that will shape the work in progress and how to leverage new technologies in the overall vision of the product

Minimum Experience

§ 5 years relevant experience in product management functions designing and developing digital solutions.

§ 5 years experience working in software development environment using one of the agile methodologies.

Minimum Qualification

§ Bachelors degree in business/engineering/computer science or related discipline.

Specific training and certifications for Agile Scrum Master and Agile Product Owner or related disciplines.
