Primary Role:

  • Provide input to facilitate the documentation the processes of the operations value chain for an Issuer which includes customer onboarding, activation, transaction processing and other processes in South Africa
  • Provide input to facilitate the documentation the processes of the operations value chain for an Acquirer which includes activities such as merchant activation, settlement and other processes in South Africa
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer of all the operational activities within the clients group entities in South Africa through a train the trainer approach
  • Provide input to training material to be documented by Client Learning and Development Team

Note:

All the training sessions, process designs and leading global/regional practices will be informed by the client or through another MC Advisors project

Secondary Role:

  • Manage and monitor project schedules, risks and ensure timely resolution of any issues or deviations from project plans
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings and project status reports with Mastercard and other stakeholders to ensure timely execution of activities
  • Ensure project documentation is up-to-date, complete, and accessible to all stakeholders
  • Communicate project progress and risks to stakeholders, including senior management
  • Build and maintain relationships with project vendors and workstream owners, ensuring their work is aligned with project objectives and deliverables
  • Ensure project deliverables meet the required quality standards, including conducting final quality reviews and sign-off from the client

Requirements, experience and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business, technology)
  • 7+ years of experience in Issuing and Acquiring operations of a bank/fintech
  • Extensive experience working on payment product/processes in SSA region
  • Knowledge of both Issuing and Acquiring operational activities
  • Strong knowledge of process design methodologies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving & analytical skills, with the ability to identify & manage project risks
  • Experience managing schedules and resources, with a focus on delivering projects on time to the required quality standards.
