- Scope : Portfolio management is the main requirement, with activation, spend build (domestic and cross border) and growing the portfolio. Product development, partnerships, sales will be a bonus.
Role
The client is looking for candidates with strong record driving cards business development and it can be in conventional or/and Islamic banking.
Planning:
- Support in development and implementation of the new product development plan in line with annual strategic plan to ensure the ongoing development of commercially effective products and services to maximize short, medium and long-term profitability.
Market Research
- Scan the external business environment and keep abreast of developments in the financial sector to identify business opportunities and to develop new products and enhance the features of existing products;
- Research regulatory changes, competitor policies and practices and consumer trends to ensure that products and services remain competitive;
- Closely monitor Branch and Outlet business volumes, product performance and results. (assuming performance dashboards, MIS, analytics, reports available); and
- Support in preparation of feasibility studies to propose suitable pricing policies.
Product and Service Development
- Support product development and enhancement, and processes which are innovative and relevant to market trends and business strategy;
- Regularly review product and service portfolio to advise management on deletion of obsolete products, identify products; that need revitalizing and gaps which need to be plugged by new offerings;
- Forecast the financial viability of new products and services to maximize financial profitability;
- Identify, prioritize and design effective processes to maintain a competitive edge in the market on product initiatives while ensuring adherence to the Companys policies and code of conduct;
- Support in ensuring profitability of the Card business through development and close monitoring of budgets and ensuring that both revenues and costs are achieved in accordance with business plans; and
- Analyze and interpret business financial indicators relating to all aspects of the Card business in order to guide and correct variances in accordance with business plans.
Requirements, experience, and skills
- Knowledge of Islamic banking and payments market, trends, opportunities and products launch;
- Experience in full lifecycle of product launch including: Designing product features, understanding segment needs and exploring partnerships
- Independence and ability to drive projects and achieve objectives with initial guidance;
- Experience to communicate and interact with senior stakeholders in the bank for periodic update;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
