PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
Provide dedicated Commercial Solutions sales and execution support to strategically drive business growth across Large & Middle Market Corporates as well as Small Business portfolios of key clients in the region. This includes partnering closely with client stakeholders to understand their business objectives, identifying opportunities to leverage the aligned products, services, and digital solutions, and ensuring successful implementation and adoption of tailored commercial solutions. The role also involves analysing market trends, tracking performance metrics, and providing actionable insights to optimize client engagement and maximize revenue growth, while strengthening long-term client relationships and reinforcing our position as a trusted strategic partner in the region.
Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Grow, maintain, convert, and track a healthy pipeline of Large Market/B2B opportunities
- Develop sales content by utilising relevant material to shape and influence the messaging and narrative
- Create, drive, and win deals with Financial Institution (FI) partners for card flows, non-card flows, and platform Values added services (VAS)
- Take responsibility for training the partner sales team and supporting their ongoing product knowledge development to enable them to sell to their customer base
- Define the sales opportunities and the prospects for the client, including OTA and B2B flows between the buyers and suppliers
- Engage & identify the right stakeholders at the bank to grow the business
- Identify and prioritize prospects lists, including lead sales discussions and pitch client(s) products to end customers
- Support operational onboarding of new customers by engaging the Program Management Commercial Team
- Where optimal, undertake Direct-to-Corporate (D2C) activities, working directly with Large Market/Mid-Market corporates with significant procurement activity
- Provide regular status updates to the Clients management on progress against KPIs through
Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong understanding of the commercial and corporate cards business spanning different industries
- Strong understanding of Transactional banking within Corporate and/or Business Segments
- 10-12 years of relevant sales and business development experience in commercial cards (required)
- People management skills, excellent written and verbal communication in English
- A successful salesperson with the ability to generate and follow up on leads independently
Mandatory Skills:
- Proactivity, curiosity to learn and eagerness to innovate including strong execution capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and an ability to bring together internal and external stakeholders to create solutions for customers and have them implemented
- Experience in identifying strategic opportunities and managing multiple stakeholder projects
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to analyse market trends, interpret portfolio performance, and provide actionable insights to optimize client engagement and revenue growth.
- Strong command of English for professional communication, with additional proficiency in Zulu and/or Afrikaans are regarded as a plus
