Job Title: Database Administration Manager
Location: Makati City
Work Set-up: Hybrid

Job Description

  • Lead and oversee the administration, maintenance, and performance of enterprise databases.
  • Ensure database availability, reliability, scalability, and optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement database strategies, standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot complex database-related issues.
  • Oversee backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Implement database security controls, access management, and data protection measures.
  • Ensure database environments comply with applicable information security, regulatory, and internal policies.
  • Lead database upgrades, migrations, patching, and other infrastructure initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Software Development, Infrastructure, Information Security, and other teams to support business and technology requirements.
  • Lead and mentor database administrators and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve database architecture, processes, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration or database management, with experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong experience with SQL and relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Solid knowledge of database performance tuning, optimization, backup and recovery, replication, and high availability.
  • Experience with database security, access controls, and data protection practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud database technologies and modern database architectures is an advantage.
  • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity for database environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in fintech, banking, payments, or other highly regulated industries is a strong advantage.
