About the Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Data Engineer to support the development, integration, transformation, validation, and maintenance of data workflows across multiple systems and databases. This opportunity is suited to an early-career professional with practical technical knowledge, analytical thinking, curiosity, and a willingness to grow through hands-on projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, maintain, and document ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Use Python to automate data processing, validation, transformation, and integration tasks.
• Work with PostgreSQL and SQL queries for data extraction, loading, and database operations.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries.
• Integrate data from databases, APIs, files, and enterprise systems.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data quality, processing, and transformation issues.
• Support the development and maintenance of reliable and efficient data pipelines.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and consistency checks.
• Maintain clear technical documentation covering processes, dependencies, transformations, and solutions.
• Collaborate with technical teams and communicate fluently with clients in English.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience or strong academic/project exposure to ETL processes.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, and data transformation.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL queries, and relational database concepts.
• Understanding of data pipelines, data transformation, and system integration.
• Ability to identify data inconsistencies and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving.
• Full professional English proficiency is mandatory. The supplied brief specifies B2–C1 or higher.
• Ability to participate in technical meetings, explain solutions, write documentation, and communicate professionally in English.
• Availability to work on-site in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Nice to Have

• PostgreSQL query optimization, joins, and stored procedures.
• Familiarity with ETL tools or orchestration frameworks.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, JSON, CSV, and other data sources.
• Knowledge of Git/GitHub and version control.
• Exposure to data warehouses and automated pipelines.
• Academic, personal, or professional projects demonstrating ETL, Python, PostgreSQL, or data integration.
