Job Description: Director, Development and Expansion - Western Hemisphere Location: Based in Dominican Republic with extensive travel throughout the region

Role Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced, visionary, and strategic leader with a proven track record in the large-scale construction sector to serve as our Director of Development and Expansion, covering the Western Hemisphere. This key role involves spearheading and executing our growth strategy throughout North America, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and beyond. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional history in identifying, evaluating, and developing complex construction projects in the Tourism, Commercial, and Urban sectors, demonstrating strong international financial leadership. This role is critical to significantly expanding our presence and project portfolio in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the overall project development and expansion strategy for the Western Hemisphere.
  • Actively identify and evaluate new business opportunities and major construction projects in the markets across North America, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
  • Lead the full project development cycle, from origination and structuring (financial, legal, technical) through to contract securing.
  • Direct the negotiation of complex agreements and contracts with clients, joint venture partners, and governments in various jurisdictions.
  • Oversee market analysis, construction industry trends (Tourism, Commercial, Urban), and regulatory frameworks throughout the Western Hemisphere.
  • Ensure the sound and profitable financial structuring of projects, working with international financial institutions.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, strategic partners, and regional government authorities.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, Legal, and other departments to ensure project feasibility and successful execution.
  • Manage risks associated with project development in multiple countries and regulatory environments.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team under direct supervision, fostering a culture of high performance and excellence.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for large-scale project development and expansion within the construction sector, with a specific focus on Tourism, Commercial, or Urban projects.
  • Proven track record of success in originating, structuring, and closing construction projects in multiple countries across the Western Hemisphere.
  • Strong international financial leadership and experience in structuring complex project financings.
  • Deep knowledge of construction market dynamics, project development processes, and regulatory environments in North America, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence high-level stakeholders.
  • Superior strategic and analytical capability to identify opportunities and manage risks in an international context.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or relevant certifications are a significant advantage.
  • Full professional proficiency in both Spanish and English (verbal and written). Knowledge of other languages relevant to the region (e.g., Portuguese, French) is a plus.
